WHAT TO EXPECT

DogFit Dallas Social Club is a monthly meet-up of BCB and DogFit Dallas clients looking to socialize their dogs in a safe, controlled environment. DFD Social Club provides the opportunity for dogs to socialize in an instinctual, natural way while supervised by trained professionals.

Dogs will start on leash in a large enclosed field. All handlers will provide space between dogs as they begin to walk on leash as a pack. Dogs will then be unleashed and are able to socialize in a highly supervised environment. If your dog has a history of reactivity, you must let us know when you RSVP, and they will be required to wear a basket muzzle (we recommend Leerburg or Baskerville).

Please keep in mind that while this is a dog social, this is intentional socialization. It is not a dog park "free for all", as trainers will be available to facilitate appropriate interactions among dogs. You must read the rules posted in the event page prior to attending!

RULES & CLUB ETIQUETTE

1. PLEASE be on time! We cannot let you in if you’re late because you and your dog will disrupt the socialization process.

2. If this is your first time attending, please let us know in advance here in the group and remind us again when you get there. First timers are encouraged to arrive at least 15 minutes before the social starts, so we can go over a few things with you and make sure you can ask questions.

3. Once the social starts and your dog is off leash, all handling will be done by the trainers on site. Do not interact with your dog, discipline your dog, call your dog, or step in if two dogs are tense around each other. We want the dogs to be dogs without their owner’s influence. The trainers will be the referees to keep things safe and will step in or direct the dogs as needed.

4. Prong collars and e-collars may be worn when you arrive and leave but must be removed/turned off during the social itself.

5. No retractable or Flexi leashes allowed!

6. No human or dog food/treats allowed when you enter the field.

7. You will be walking for the whole one hour class, wear comfortable shoes - NO FLIP FLOPS OR OPEN TOED SHOES ALLOWED! If you are NOT able to walk for the full hour, please plan accordingly and have someone who IS able to create movement. We don't want anyone sitting at the picnic tables because it can create issues among the dogs.

8. The field is outside and not covered. Dress accordingly in comfortable clothes.

9. There is no place to put items so only bring in things that you can carry on your person. If you cannot carry it with you, please leave it in your car.

10. Please bring poop bags for your dog. We will also have scoopers there but sometimes it’s easier to just pick up the poop in a bag. Be kind, and pick up someone else’s dog’s poop as well when you see it.

11. No children under 12 are allowed. Anyone you bring needs to understand they cannot interact with any of the dogs at social, also not their own.

12. Most dogs that attend will be neutered/spayed. Be sure to let us know if you are bringing an intact adult male or female to class. No female dogs in heat allowed! If you bring a female dog in heat, you’ll be sent home for this class.

13. If your dog needs to wear a muzzle, please make sure they are muzzle trained (basket muzzles only, preferably Leerburg or Baskerville brand) PRIOR to class. The dog must be able to wear the muzzle for an extended time without trying to get it off. If your dog is not muzzle conditioned you may be excused from class to continue to work on it. If you want to know if your dog needs to come muzzled, email us at hello@buddhahoodcb.com.
